'Kerf' Recycled Plastic Side Table

The Kerf side table/stool is constructed entirely from post-consumer recycled plastics, as part of my ongoing experimentation with sustainable materials in furniture-making. It is constructed from just one sheet of 100% recycled plastic. Each piece has vertical flutes machined before being heated and formed around a cylindrical jig to form a unique, seamless table or stool.

Each stool starts life as plastic packaging, containers or even white goods depending on the plastic type. I source my recycled plastics from Smile plastics, and this piece can be created using any of their range, including bespoke colours and patterns, just get in touch for more information.

Available with a top diameter of 350mm or 450mm (custom sizing available on request).

Each piece is hand crafted to order in my workshop in Brighton and ships fully assembled. For commercial/trade enquiries, please get in touch.

Materials and Finishes:

The Kerf recycled plastic table is available in various types, sourced from Smile Plastics. For more details information on the plastic and its origins, their website can be found here. Their classic range is listed opposite, each with their own unique surface characteristics, with the Ocean, Spectra and Grey mist having varying degrees of translucence which work beautifully settings with natural light.

Lead times and Delivery:

Each piece is made to order with a lead time of between 2-6 weeks depending on plastic type and current availability - however, quicker turnarounds are sometimes possible, just get in touch. UK mainland delivery from £25 or collection from Brighton can be arranged.
